There is probably a memory hole mapping option in BIOS. Its different on different boards, but this is one thing to consider. You will have to look around for the proper setting of this option though.

Also, it is possible that the RAM its self may be faulty. I would try each stick individually and see how much RAM is reported by BIOS. You could also try memtest86, which should find any errors with your RAM.

Not the only one that has had this issue.

There is suppositly an option to give you 4gig but if i turn it on, or off what ever it is, I only get 2gig instead of 4gig. Rather annoying but then again im not running 64-bit OS just yet. I did try my system with a 64-bit Vista but was having issues and just jumped to 32-bit Vista for the time being til the final release comes out to grab.

For me, if I had more RAM, I would set my memory hole mapping to hardware (if I recall...) and XP 64 would see all 4 GB.

Thanks lots,
I have tested the each ram, all working ok.
Sorry for the stupid questions... what is "memory hole mapping option"? How does it works??:D

Thanks:)

Hi, thank you, good to know someone using same mb, may be you can help me somehow… have you ever see any option for memory setting or os setting inside this particular board bios, because I haven’t “find it” yet…

Also, do you having problem with onboard sound? My HD audio and DTS doesn’t seem to work before, now I got sound working but don’t think DTS is working… I have seem many owners of P5B deluxe having issues with its onboard sound system, which the DTS is completely “NOT” working, thanks Asus for that…:banghead:

And I also having problems with LG DVD writers, they used to be there, I still can check from device manager, all seem fine but just won’t any disc, perhaps this is drivers missing?…:banghead:

thanks

I've found what I thought would of been the setting but it ends up limiting to 2gigs of ram. So not sure yet I haven't messed around extensively with it yet.

Sound, I don't use onboard sound just use a Soundblaster Audigy 2 card in there works like a charm and is what a good 3-4 years old at least. Same with my DVD burner its a NEC 3500A if not mistaken it was the first of the sieres of "good and reliable" burners to come out love my NEC and have had that for umm i know its 2 years for sure maybe... maybe 3.
