Hi There,

I'm curiouse....What are isometric tiles?..(All I see is videos of space stuff)...Is there another name for this?...What is it you want exactly?

I figure, if I knew what you wanted, maybe I or others could help..Is it to do with texturing, exporting or rendering..How does it relate to Vue 5 or 6?

Sorry for being naiev, but from the lack of responses, it looks like others also have no experience with this.

Ivan.

Thanks Ivan :) Its related to vue 5 regarding rendering objects with the camera having a isometric point of view. Check Xcom ufo defense game on google, for screenshots of the game,
especially the battlescape, thats the part i need to build :) Isometric tiles are squares in perspective that put together make the maps themselves :P Or leave me your email so that i can send you screenshots, please. Thanks again :)

Hi Paulo,

I THINK I get what you want...from what I can understand, you want to know how to render without any lens distortion (isometric point of view). Heres two images of an object i rendered with the camera view and one with the front view..Is the the front view image what your after?, so you can the place them in cube type arrangment to suit your game.

If it is correct let me know, as I can make you a tute to show you how i got the image.

I have also added an image rendered in Lightwave with the Orthographic camera, the result is much like vue's front view.

I'm probably getting it all wrong...Heres a link explaining isometric projection:

http://www.ul.ie/~rynnet/keanea/isometri.htm

I'm not sure how the renders from vue are arranged to get this result.

Isometric camera is simply not possible in Vue. That is why you probably do not get an answer.

Thanks Ivan and Wabe :) Id be glad to know how to take the lens distortion out so that i can simulate the isometric point of view within the camera settings. Wabe, if vue5 dont allow to make it, what other 3D software does it ? Thanks

There was a topic about using Vue for isometric tiles on this board ...

http://www.dundjinni.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=5768

Unfortunately Vue doesn't have a true isometric camera (unlike Carrara for example). But maybe the info on that link can help you.
