An initial idea in the corner for patrica surrounded by lanier, olmy, and the frant in the background motivated me to start gesture studies of Patrica. This is the first page of that study.

I've developed a series of position studies to see the relationship of characters to scene to background. Patrica, Lanier, Olmy, and the Frant are in the foreground. A series of rectangle in the middle represent placeholders for key scenes from the book. The Earth is in the background. The world is divided by the coming of the asteroid (before and after).

Referencing the book, I've started with a general break up of the city. I'm trying to understand the scale of this city within the Way. It's enormous, old, and evolving. The power system would probably have been updated. So, I think that would be a combination of old and new. Axis Nader would be the oldest in aesthetics. Central City would be a jewel distinct from the rest of Axis City. Axis Thoreau and Euclid is modern, clean, and interlocked in some fashion.

Thanks for the comment. I'm almost resolved my idea for Axis City. As another noticed, it is a bit complex. If I'm to make the deadline, I need to find a way to make the model look complex; however, I'm looking at simplifying the execution. I'll be posting new images towards that direction on Wednesday. My final design will be done on the following Monday. Then, I can start to model the city.

I'm a little confused with the post. Are you suggesting that I look at these other artists? Or, am I looking at similar competitors? I have been looking at the other artists. What intersest me is the posters that are being executed. My direction is to focus on Patricia and her role in the change of humanity, once the Stone arrives. It's quite difficult. I'm avoiding the Russian/American conflict. I'd rather look at EON from the perspective of hope and awe. This isn't easy for me to express visually; however, I'm plugging away at it.
