Hi there,

Working my way through the modeling tute. I've come to this part:

Duplicating and Joining the Tanks by the Hip
You are now going to create an instance of the tank.
113.Make the bolts a child of the tank and the tank a child of the leg support object.
114.Select the top object in the hierarchy (the leg support). One way to do this quickly in a viewport
is to press the spacebar and right-click on any object in the hierarchy— this tree-selects the
hierarchy— that is, it selects the root of the object’s hierarchy in branch mode.
115.Choose Create > Model > New Model. Give the new model a name.
116.Choose Edit > Duplicate/Instantiate > Instantiate Single or press Ctrl+i.
117.Move the tank instance beside the original tank.

I make the model, name it, then go to edit and make the instantiation. I see "instantiate" in the readout at the bottom (Script editor?). But when I attempt to move it - there is only one model, there is no duplicate model. I can't imagine this is a function of the demo not working, but I have tried this over and over and it does not work.

The other thing that does not seem to work is Transform > Move Center to Vertices.

ANy idea on why duping this model would not work?

Thanks

Might be a shot in the dark, but you might try using the explorer (hit 8, I think) and clicking on the name of your newly created model using middle click. From there, hit Crtl + I.
