CGTalk - light sabre effect

Hi.

I'm just pondering on making a little stupid sequence that will sort of be a tribute to the "starwars kid", and was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a way to create the glowing effect of a star wars light sabre, in after effects.

Basically it's about tracking or rotoscoping a white area and adding an additive glow.
