My character has foot controls like heel_rool,ball_rool and toe rool.

Heel_rool is just a rotation of the leg's ik handle.

For ball_rool i group the leg's ik handle and set the pivot in the ball joint.

For the toe_rool i group the leg's ik handle and set the pivot in the toe joint.

Now the problem is after i move the leg the pivot does not follow with the leg.

What should i do?

I tried first to set the pivot and then pointConstrain the roll_ball group to the joint...

Any ideas for this problem? I am not really experienced with riggng.

Ok..

If you post a .ma file of the rigging problem I will take a look at it and offer ideas.

Hi,

Some thoughts:

Your rig looks like it is a robot. If you want the robot to walk like a robot you won't need these rolls, but if you want the robot to walk like a human use a reverse foot setup.

Google 'maya reverse foot' for tutorials.

I understand why a foot tap would be good, but not sure if I understand your heel, ball, and toe rolls.

The reverse foot can achieve a foot roll with a set driven key as well as various foot pivots which can be useful for animation.

Hope this is helpful. If you didn't use reverse foot for a reason or had a reason for those rolls, let us know why.

Thanks,
Sean
