Hello-

Can someone take a look at this page:
http://forums.scifi-meshes.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6030

And tell me how you can configure MAX to display shadows like that in the viewport? Or is that a render? It looks like screen-cap to me, because of the edged faces, but I can't figure out how to get the shadow to show up like that...

Any ideas?

thx,
sledge

looks to me like a render. there should be a thing in the tips section about putting the wires on there like that.. and then it's just rendered with a non-soft shadow with a high multiplier i'm guessin'.

hey, why don't you just use ActiveShade in one of your Viewports? (it will bring shadows in your viewport). About the wireframe...maybe you can add a copy of the object JUST where's the original, and assign a wireframe material to it. But...is it really that important?

i think this picture shows a rhino preview render and the "wireframe" are the nurbs lines.
to achieve such an effect with max meshes try using the following plugins:

Wiretex from blur
http://www.blur.com/blurbeta

or edgemap from snormonster
http://www.snotmonster.com/

or create renderable splines which follow the surface of your object.
