The company I work for has an interest in adding an interactive game to the company website based on our ad campaign. Everything is still in the concept and planning stages, and i've been tasked with a few things, so I thought that I would ask the experts here some of the logistics.
I'll make some assuptions on the complexity of the game now, but keep in mind that everything is concept at best.
I'd need at least 2 animated characters that can run, jump, pick up items, have idle modes and some key poses (for glamor shots).
The environment would be a multi leveled, fully textured shopping mall. Sound effects would be needed. Based on the amount of points the player got, they would receive a unique code that would be redeemable from my company.
1) For making a browser based game, (assuming it is 3d), what is the best software to use? I've looked into shockwave and wildtangent, but are there other methods?
2) I know that this depends on the complexity of the game, but what is the bare minimum cost that I can expect?
3) Again, I know that this depends on the complexity, but what kind of timetable can I expect to look at?
4) What are good examples of 3D browser based games out now? What does the community think best represents what 3d browser based games can do now?
Any thoughts?
