View Full Version : Minimum PC to run XSI?

Is anyone successfully running XSI on a XP Home PC? My PC is a 1.7 Ghz, 512 MB RAM but not XP pro... would it still run? Doesn't seem to me to be that much difference between home and pro. I'm not sure if pro is just a recommendation or a requirement that would prevent it from running.

Should run.

I've been running versions 4.0 through 5.11 on XP Home and haven't had any problems.

Thanks guys, that's good news. If I decide to go with XSI I'd hate to have to shell out for a new PC as well.

XSI runs fine on XP Home.

If you have room on your mobo I'd stick another 512 ram in there though.

I think it is maxed, but will take a look, more RAM is always better for sure. It's actually an older PC, like 3 1/2 years, but still runs well.

Dude... I'm running XSI on a 1.6Ghz Tablet PC with a lousy 32 MB video card and a 12" screen.
XSI runs fine ... even when I have a chacter with a full head of hair.

The frame rate is slow as hell, but it is still managable ( with a full head of hair that is .)

( B.T.W., XSI hair is so much better than A:M hair )

I think you are really going to like XSI.

So far I dig it. Trying to make the patch > poly conversion here, thinking is just different. I'm trying to use the Edharris.com tutorials (http://www.edharriss.com/tutorial.html), some of the stuff seems old though or doesn't work as he states it does. If anyone knows of better modeling tutes, let me know.
