Title: Shiva, the Supreme Lord

This is a representation of the Hindu god Shiva. He's my favorite god among all. He's being depicted here as Nataraja, the Lord of Dancers. In this representation, he steps on a little demon, that represents the human ignorance.
Sketch done on paper with a pencil. Scanned and painted on Photoshop. Crits and comments for improvement on next works are welcome.

I really like the dancing pose, the little demon and the fire circle.
The skin tones are really well made too, and the background is really deep.

jokko: Nobody special. I wasn't sure about the appearence of the demon, as I search on the web and different versions of the Nataraj statue had usually different looking demons. And written material didn't say anything specific about his appearence or specific symbols. So i used a sort of mix of different versions I've seen on statues pictures.

A portrait of Kali? Hum.. Yeah, I'll consider this! ;)

nice concept,and executed it neatly,just a crit that the back posture should be more straight of lord shiva and here it is a little bit bended,( i think) maybe,
found a picture of lord shiva..this will help u :wise:
