Hi all,
i got a bit bored of all those low light, dusk, dawn lighting themes i've used in recent paintings, so i decided to get my hands on a day scene. I have chosen a mountain scenery in mid autumn, and somehow had these 1950-60s postcards in mind while painting it. Don't know if you know these though. They had a certain colour to them because they were selectively handcoloured photographs. Well, whatever, as always PS CS2 with my wacom. I hope you like it and tell me if you do so or if you don't, thanks a lot.

it looks as though you've begun to detail the backround. Are you planning to flesh out the foreground as well? If so, i'd love to see it.
Anywho, It's great.
nice use of colors! Great work

Wonderful work, has very much of an oil painting - adorable!
Wirklich super, es gibt nicht viele Leute, die auf diese liebevolle Art "traditionelle" Pinselstriche nachahmen :)

Hey bjorn I like the bright color paletter you used on this one! and the almost dirty/scratchy vintage treatment is nice and subtle. Great work:)

Thanks for all your nice words and taking the time to comment EhsanD, prasa, CGadrian, JumboWumbo5, Goro, JSR1 and Azurelle.
@ JumboWumbo5: i am sorry to disappoint you but i am not planning to flesh out anything else in the painting, it's a good contrast of loose and sharp areas as it is right now.
@ Azurelle: that's a compliment i really enjoy.
Ist mir nämlich echt wichtig, dass man noch das "Handgemachte" fühlt, wenn man das Bild betrachtet. Dank Dir!

Nothing to crit!
Great colours and brushstrokes.
I like the fact that you want to "change your style and subject". You are humble.
You always want to improve yourself, and it's usually surprising for us! It's a really good thing!
keep it up!
bye

Hey arnaud, glad you like my new work and good to know that i am able to surprise you. On the other hand you are able to do that, too, because i was just reading through the december issue of imaginefx and suddenly saw your portfolio! Very cool man, congrats on gettin' in there. And i want to say that i really love your latest portfolio image, the moviemakers. Just a great colourscheme and a lovely overall feel.
