Hmmm I guess I agree the grip isn't exactly ergonomic (however you spell that). the textureing is pretty flawless though, nice work! :)
I like it the way it is....very nicely done...nice details in the modeling too...great job...

Wow,

Wow! This is fantastic! A little bit of LOTR and a little bit of historical accuracy, a nice marriage. Very cool styling and especially good texturing.
Sorry cant give you any advice, it looks great, and nice to see the wires too. Not too sure about that square grid that is all over the second render though (J/K).
Great stuff

dunno if its supposed to be like that, but the texture on the cylinder (the one on the closeup where the horns are culed around) seem a little stretched
other than that It looks awsome :bounce:

I have seen many 3D swords in the past, this is by far my favorite one, excellent work! I especially like your attention to detail, and texturing ability.

nice modelling there... I dont have any comments other than... how cool is that sword handle?!??!?!
oh... and the textures are nice too :D

I think it's a fantastic model! I really like the design of the handle.
Though the only thing that really bothers me is the grip. I kinda think a huge metal bulge protruding into the hand would be uncomfortable. But I don't know too much about sword fight now do I! :D
Great job!!!

damn man, that is some bad ass texturing......
itd be cool to see it in its environment, perhaps like on a sword holder of some sort

I love the design of handle. The texturing is very good too.

That's a very good model + texture, though one thing that bothers me is the actual grip for the sword. While it does look good, upon further inspection it looks completely un-ergonomic to hold, the ring in the middle does not really make sense and it would make the sword considerably harder to hold. That is, unless this is actually a HUGE two handed sword, though I somehow doubt that. I would consider making the ringer smaller and more inset to conform to the shape of the overall grip a bit more so it would be easier to hold. Sure, it's nitpicking, but *shrug* it's input. :P

Very nice. My only real comment is that I think the tip of the blade might be a little too sharp. The blade itself seems rather used and aging so to me the tip of it should be a little more dull. But hey, the owner could just be really on top of his blade sharpening

Looks great!
Just to comment on the grip:
It's a standard practice to give the handle of a sword(especially short swords) a second guard. It allows the user to draw the weapon from deep wounds and also allows for greater control while utilizing torsional thrusting.
So, technically, the handle is fine. In fact, you would actually find that in real combat, the added control would be much desired.

Absolutly great model and rendering, =especially detail wise...
but i have to agree with yomope, the shield guard looks to close to the hand grip, it would be very uncomfortable to swing... but that a very tiny thing.

whahoo, nice sword you have there, lets grab en swing it around! (mmmh, why does that sound so gay-alike? djees  )
nicely done, eye for detail, i really like the hornes rapped around the grip!! the texturing prima
to add more wow to it, mùaybe you could add a magic part some sort maybe add a little marble with some fog and glow, if not, its nice how its done now!
cheers  :D

Really cool, no real critics for me . The guard would be perfect for a three fingered guy (or monster). I just would like to know how you add details on the round part : flat modelling then bending or something else ?
Anyway, great work !

Joebount, you are right, "flat modelling then bending "
Hasch2o
I drawed the shope of the blade, then extrude it.
I weld the virtex of the brim and do some chamfer.not complex.
you can try some times. :)
