So my plugin creates a mesh of about 7,000,000 polygons, just by appending to an MPointArray, and then connecting them up, but Maya runs out of memory and the mesh creation fails. Only have 512mb ram, but thought it could handle that.
Is there a better, memory friendly way of mesh creation in the API, or has anyone else found limits to the number of polygons they can create? I would really like to be able to load more than this into Maya.
