I'm wondering is there a way to transfer a cloner obect from one surface to another. Basically Say i have a cloner object full of cubes that i have placed on an object - a sphere - and i want all the cubes to jump from the sphere to a cone. Is there a way to do this in mograph? or would i need to use something like thinking particles??

the effect im going for is loads of different objects changing shape.

Just use a matrix object to set up the positions on the cone then use the inheritance effector to inherit the positions from the matrix object and animate between however you want (using falloffs, or just animating the strength etc).

thanks will give it a try - will let you know how i get on. Will this work for any two object?

You can blend between positions anywhere, as many objects as you want, provided you have the effectors in the right order. To blend the clones themselves (i.e. blending between objects that have the same number of points in them, or blending between splines with different point counts, or just blending between parametric objects) set the cloning mode to blend, then use effectors to control the clones blending value using the "Modify Clone" option under Parameter->Other on the effector.

that works perfectly!! I'll put up the file tomorrow in case there are any other mograph virgins like myself out there!

thanks
