I am kinda a newbie to the type of modelling without blueprints so if anyone could help me i would be very thankful. I due tomorrow have to make an ocean scene with a colleague. He is doing the landscape and i am doing the seaweed. Do any of you know how to mdoel seaweed, tubeworms, squids, jellyfish and animating them? Help Please!

Thanks a lot.!

Sincerely,

Dmitri Farkov.

Sounds like a tall order for tomorrow...

A lot of it will depend on the distance it needs to be viewed at, but for some quick seaweed, you could try a double sided plane, with a twist modifier & a noise modifier. Pass a ripple spacewarp over the lot & it could pass for seaweed.

A tubeworm could be a tube, noise modifier & meshsmooth.

Squid & jellyfish could be more difficult. I'm in the middle of a jellyfish anim (in progress QT below) the tentacles are all done with Simcloth - it takes ages though. Before I did that, I had some OK results from a static ripple spacewarp, & the flex modifier

The jellyfish body was just done with a lathed spline, the CV's of which are animated in a loop.
