View Full Version : Dave the Rollerblader
Dusk108 02-12-2003, 10:14 PM This is a character I'm working for my short film. He's a sorta of cyberpunk chararacter. I'm going for a comic book style here. So any comments criticisms are welcome, feel free to tear it apart. But no flames please.:wip:
This is the near finished model after smoothing. No texturing yet just some color for clarity. Done in maya 4.5.

Overall a good model - the only comment I can make is that the hands could do with a bit of work and the eyes look a bit big. But when he's cartoony you expect big eyes. Mouth corners aren't quite right either

i like the veins in the arm. The thumb needs a bit of work. I guess my biggest concern is the stlye. You said comic book, but realistic comic book, like Alex Ross realistic? Or comic book like Ren and Stimpy? I can't tell what stlye you're going for with this model. If it's a comic book realism, i would suggest adding more detail. You already added veins. I would contine on that structure. Develop the knuckles more( every comic book has a POW! with a good fist). And then carry that to the face. Eyes look better. Maybe needs eyebrows. Hope this helps. Looking forward to the texturing.

Evildeli- i keep forgetting that comic book covers a whole range os styles. I Meant more along the lines of superhero comics like marvel and dc, or even image stuff. Thanks for the suggestion.
cluserfuq and fallenswordsman- thanks for the suggestions also, hands have been improved a little. I'll post a picture when i think i have them correct.
