Hi guys this is my last personal work: Digital Sphinx
I've seen the real statue by Marc Quinn and I 've said: wow I want to make it in 3d. Finaly today I've finished this project...
I've used 3d studio max to model the girl and Mudbox for details(I'm a mudbox betatester).
Now I explain and show you some particulars of my work. check it out!

It was a hard work coz it was very difficult to model a girl in this position. So I've modelled in T pose, then I've rigged she with Character Studio and moved sphinx pose. In this way I've remodeled some parts of girl.

Then I've used Mudbox to define all the details. this model has 3 millions polygons.

The face is not so detailed coz she is a young woman:

For the render I've used three passes: 1 Diffuse+ GI,2 SSS(mental ray), 3 occlusion(mental Ray).
For the lighting I've use two light and a Hdri(Uffizi)

nice sculpt and very difficult pose !

in my opinion the image suffers from some things, hope you don't mind some crits,
which may or may not be good to take.
- the hair is really the weak part of the model, it looks like clay more than stone, especially where it is attached to the head.
- the face modeling lacks interestic characteristics and subtelty, seems its based on angelina jolie once again. the lips look full of botox like hers.
- the procedural bump in the shading removes the sculptural qualities of your model.
the model itslef looks much better in the viewport screens.

Congratulations! This render is astonishing... I understand the procedure with 3 passes of rendering but it's not very clear to me how HDRI works with mental ray. You can explain a bit about this? Great and 5 *!

dear akira I' have used vray to get the first pass(diffuse+gi). A hdri in vray + 2 vray lights.
In mental ray I've made the occlusion and SSS passes.
