View Full Version : Glass in Ambient Occlusion

Hi all, i'm working in a Archviz project, and i need to reproduce the glass transparent shadow blur effect.
Let me explain: i have some cristal table inside the structure, i have a partition with ambient occlusion and a partition with the cristal table.
The result are not good, i have some transparency but not in all obj(at the intersection became black), and the blurry shadow is not colored (sligtly blue).
Some tips?

As far as I know the only way to render AO with a transparent object is to use ctrl_geolights in a FG dome type of setup. But without the FG.

I think the BA_raylength shader from the binary alchemy collection ( http://www.binaryalchemy.de (http://www.binaryalchemy.de/) ) supports transparency.
Another way would be maybe the mib_FG_occlusion shader which is part of the T2S_MentalRay shader.
