View Full Version : Gods/Demons - Vehicle - YemYam
YemYam 03-23-2002, 03:20 AM Hello all, time for me to enter the fray again. Got a late start on this one but figured I would enter anyway. I’m not going to even think about texturing, animating, environments, etc. this time around so I should be able to finish in time.
I’ve been out of the loop recovering from the last challenge but am ready to get mangled again. I started on this two days ago and have probably logged around 14 hours give or take.
The title for my piece is “Confessions of a Teenage Biker Hoodlum Possessed by Satan and Tripping on LSD”. I am making a demon chopper and a twisted hoodlum/satan creature that will be riding the bike. Special thanks to West Coast Choppers for the bike inspiration.
Here is the first pass of the bike, still has a bit of work to do but thought I would show you what I had so far. I’ll knock the bike out first because it will be the easiest then I’ll kick the possessed teen out.
Most of the bike was made with modified primitives, the skull tank is sub-d, the fenders and the wheel spokes are surface tools. It was all made with basic stuff then converted and fine tuned at the sub-poly level.
As always, comments, crits, and questions always welcome. PS – I do not take or condone the consumption of hallucinogenics; this is simply a concept for a 3d model. Drugs are bad kids … m’kay?

Don't worry farley, it will be very evil and have some MAJOR horsepower. I can't wait to get to the exhaust pipes either. I will update soon.

awesome concept...
i imagine the engine.. a living-demon-engine.
preparing a drink : 1/4 regular, 1/4 nitro, 1/4 LSD, 1/4 vodka, 2 icecube and a lime juice :) while the demon-pilot drives with his feet, lengthened on the seat, smoking some drugs on a motorway.. but in the wrong lane...
ok - i go to sleep :):D:);):):D:)

Brrrrrmmmmm...
Great! A demon with vehicle at last! Your entry is gonna be one of the most originals, i think, and if it gets the level of the last one (your cyberspidermechgirl was awesome) one of the best!
I´d only crit the handle, it should be one of those big ones, a Harley Davidson type. And the engine demon inside idea is great!

Hey guys, sorry for the cheese out but just had too much to do for work. Plus I had a strange attraction to sleeping this month so I only ended up with a few days work on this. Anyway, here's where it's at so far, It still needs a ton more detail work and more "evil" put into it.
See everyone next challenge.

Nice job. I love they way that it is lit. Is it rendered in Brazil. How about a final wire please. I would have liked to seen a claw headlight. Anyway it' nice variation on chop-her!

NOTE: Please use my previous post as my contest entry, this is just to show the wireframe.
My final pic was rendered out of max with the default scanline render. There are 10 lights in the scene to achieve the result that I got. There are 4 different materials used on the bike with different spec/diffuse color and spec level/glossiness settings (no maps were used).
I did have the start of the combo mechanical/demon engine but it was taking longer than I expected to integrate them effectively and again, I only got to spend around 3 days on this guy. I decided the quickest and easiest route to a semi-finished model would be a traditional engine.
I am going to finish it and add more organic elements (bones, knives, chains, etc.) as well as take another stab at the demon engine. I've also got a cool idea for a skull headlight that will add a lot. After that add some really grungy mapping and it should be a lot closer to the demon chopper that I originally planned.
Thanks for all the feedback guys, I should have more time to devote to the next challenge so I promise a finished product for the next challenge! :wip:

This is awesome. I only have one crit. Add some thickness to the pipes and fenders. Then you can add bevels to creat some highlights on the end of them.:buttrock:
