Here is still image, that i made to learn a bit of maya and PRMAN :-)
Should be viewed at 32bit colors, or shadows will appear a bit cut off. There are some jpg compression artifacts too :-)

Modelling done in Maya 4.5, rendering PRMAN11, some post production in Photoshop 7.0.

Shadows: depth maped + post in photoshop.
Shaders: fully procedural
Lightning: some spotlights mainly

Any critique is welcome.

The banana is great the texture is real, did you work the texture in photoshop after scanning a banana . That's the way I work
fruits. the lemon is good, but i can't see much of the apple.

Bob27: actually, i had real banana on my table as a reference :-)
And all the textures are procedural - which means i built shading networrks in Slim from scratch - sort of mixture of different noises, fractals and etc :-) For example banana has 7 layers of different stuff mixed up - its kinda complicated network of all sorts of nodes :-)

Your apple is nice ;), though the specular highlights seem to be a bit off and the images seem to be a bit overcompressed.

Great, great texturing, if you slapped this in a bowl and comped it I would definitely not be able to tell the fruit was CG. Very cool

Looks very cool, =), it's only one thing that can be changed, thats at the bottom of the banana, above the orange or what it is, it looks to sharp, like its painted with paint =)

the lemon doesn't seam to be very fresh... :/ but, either stills to be a nice texturing and modeling work ;)

A "turn over" animation would be welcome !

Nicely done, the banana gets the highest degree of coolness, it looks the most realistic, the lemon is kinda rot isn't he, but looks wowwie too!

the banana looks a bit weird. at the tip facing us theres a weird black halo. and the end facing away from the viewer looks kind of... ragged ???

and yes, i even downloaded the tif to make sure its not cause of the jpg compression.

Wonderful lighting and reflections, I think it looks very good! The textures are also quite believable, but the lighting tops it!
