As I had to find out: The very useful CS Polytools (for Max 4) do not work in combination with the symmetry modifier in Max5.
That wouldn't be a problem when there would be an alternative function implemented in Max 5 which replaces the Polytools. When I was searching for the irreplaceable tools "cs slide" I stumbled over the Max 5 constraints. I was said to set the constraints on "edge". But that doesn't seem to solve my problem:

-> This is my original object. The middle line shall "slide" to the top.

->This is what happens when I use the cs slide. G-o-o-d!
http://www.fireworkpictures.underground-channel.de/temp/3.jpg
-> And this happens when I set constraints on "edge" (after an edgeloop) and move it to the top: nothing!
http://www.fireworkpictures.underground-channel.de/temp/4.jpg
->A little bit more to the top and this happens, but that's of course not what I want it to do!
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
