Hi Guys,

I'm new to this digital painting thing but I was very attracted to this style.

Any idea how he might've approached this look?

Thanks in advance.

You can probably get that look easier using Painter than Photoshop. Take a look at Ronnie Del Carmen's work--looks a lot like that.

It's basically a cute illustration style that uses a lot of simple flat colors, simple brushwork, cartoony figures..etc. It's a very stylized look--one that if you want to mimic, should be relatively easy if you know what you're doing (although I think one should strive one's own style).

My guess is that it's done in painter or a similar program. I doubt it was done in illustrator. The leaves look to me like they were done with a custom brush, because of the triangular shapes and the repeating patterns. Like a rubber stamp almost. It almost looks slightly posterized.
