I created this logo in photoshop and now would like to replicate it in Max.

http://www.3dart.co.za/space4/logo.jpg

How could I go about doing this. I tried using modifiers like spherify, squeeze and edit mesh with soft selection vertices. Nothing creates the desired look! I want that arced look.

I also want the black edge/contour around the text and then the glow around that. Just doesn't look right either and using perimeter glow on the object looks cr@p. I then tried putting the glow around a clone of the object and moving it slightly behind but now the glow dissappears? How can I activate "glow behind objects"?

To sum it up, I need it to look exactly the same or at least close to the same as the Photoshop version:)

Any help someone cause I ain't that great with logos:)

Maybe it has been better u created the letters in illustrater. Importe them into MAX and turn them into splines.
Then bevel them as you like.
If you cant do this, try to redraw the typo in MAX itself.
use the existing pic as background image and use splines to redraw it.
the glow is best done with a compositin prog like After effects IMO.

or use the same font you used in photoshop and make a text shape with it and just distort the edge vertices and drag it out like the pic

Problem is I don't have illustrator. I tried to export from photoshop to .ai but it didn't work. That ultimately would be the best solution. Maybe I should just trace the letters in flash and export to Max:(

As for the glow I don't have a compositing program:)

I'm not totally sure I know what you mean? I you mean use soft selection? If so I tried that and it didn't work properly.

I'd use a Text shape for the lettering, use a Bevel modifier to get the required extrusion for the letters and then use a FFD box to get the overall shape. The glow could be achieved by assigning the logo's material to an effects channel and adding a Glow render effect. There's probably a better way.

What's wrong with the one you've done in Photoshop?

Thanks mridgers i'll probably just mess around until I get something. I'm looking at animating the logo and popping into a flash file.

On top of what mridgers said... if the glow render effect didn't work too well in MAX... use the "outer glow" in Photoshop (i.e. layer style effect). :scream:
