Title: Dakarii
Name: Raśl Cabrales
Country: United States
Software: Photoshop

I created this image to be included in my portfolio as an example of character and costume design. I didn't reference any particular culture. I started with a rough pen drawing, scanned it, cleaned it up and colored it in Photoshop. Please critique anything in the image but in particular I need advice on the use of lighting and color techniques.

I like the coloring, and the character design.

However, I do not understand how the pose could work. Her left leg looks like it has been drawn upwards and in front, but it is still standing on the ground, without her right leg being very oblique to the side. I don't get it at all.

There are a lot of things I love about this piece.
The costuming and background are very well conceived. It's beautiful.

But I agree that the pose is a bit awkward.

overall, a very nice piece.
