OK lets start Rigging:

As for practice now I'm gunna do some Morphing and then Rigging. I'm kinda a newb at this part so ill beef up my skills in this area. Right now I plan to do some facial morphing along with character Studio Setups :) So Ill start with Morphing first. firstly Ill do teh mouth.. I'm gunna fallow this facial map here, http://www.comet-cartoons.com/toons/3ddocs/lipsync/lipsync.html

So yeah Ill start on the mouth first, then the eyes. Both Eyes and mouth should make up the rest of the facial expressions so i dont have to add those. Anyways heres a Start so far, you all can help me here at this point, Any referances would be great. thnx in Advance.

on the morph targets, the mouth expressions look good, but there doesnt seem to be any other face movement. i.e. when the mouth opens wide, the nose crinkles and the brow does a little bit too.

looking good tho, the model is very nice.

OK Im almost finished with the Mouth Morphing. Just a few more tweaking to do. After the mouth is complete I will then move on to the eye expressions, Blinks, eye brows, etc.

I did a quick animation test here. You'll need Divx to play it, and its really short and only like 64kb big.

PS: Sorry for the other images, they seem to have dissapeard on me again. I'll post new images again soon. later.

looks good, however, some comments....

- on his chest, where the pecs come together in the middle of his chest, you modeled the way the muscle buldges correctly, but you made the point the muscles meet a bit too far out, so it looks like he has a shirt, that is wrinkling across his muscles, when it's really muscles buldging.... if that makes anysense... im just trying to say, move the center of his rib cage (where the muscles meet) inwards....

- and for the last picture, it'd be cool if his face was facing the camera, but his eyes were looking away... just a nice picture, not really a comment, just a good way of presenting him thats all!

GREAT MODELING THO! :D
keep it up!

BAH, I didnt feel i explained myself very well, heres a pic to help...

Ok I did a lil more on the eye movements (blinking, eye brow up) and I think it needs a lil more touches up here and there, also a couple of more facial Morph targets. This is another quick test, also it seems the face is kinda dead. does the cheeks move when we talk? not really eh? mabe. I have to look in the mirror for that one :) Anyways I'll be back.

Onwards with Rigging! Yes I have decided to choose Character Studio 4.0 for 3D Studio Max 5.1. I have been tweaking it left and right on its back so far. I did some basic setups in other places like the legs, arms, fingers, toes etc.. Now onces I set all those basics up I then tweak it all from there assigning each verts to a link :) This part is the hardest yet rewarding. Heres some pics I uploaded and I will be back mabe with a little animation tests :)

OK I'm still tweaking this guy up and yes its been an adventure! and looking forward onwards! Anyways this is just a simple animation deformation test, still he needs tweaking cause he can't walk properly yet :) he seems drunk! lol anyways this link here is like 1.20 megs big. sorry for the 56krs :(

PS: After tweaking every verts, I plan to add bulges too. this part im kinda new at so I'll have to check it out so I can learn it as well :)

This is looking very cool. It's almost creepy how you can manipulate this guy. Also, I happen to have a similarly detailed model that I'm dreading rigging, so I'll be watching you go through it all first. That way I'll know what to expect. :D

The 'drunk' animation is really very cool. I'd like to see the rigging setup you used for that! Could you post some material on the setup and how you did the walk sequence?

About the model: he's missing the lower part of his ribcage below the pectorals there are at least 3 more ribs.Or it looks that way anyway - maybe the bellybutton is too high and that's it, but somethings is odd in the stomach area ... The rest and especailly the legs are very nice and muscular though!
