CGTalk - VR 7 Graphic card

Hello

I have few questions regarding VR 7 Graphic card with nvidia quadro pro.

1.I have a almost three year old card so does the life of a card effects its performance??If yes how?

2.Is it true that SGI did some proprietary stuff to both the BIOS as well as the OGL mini driver that shipped with it??
