View Full Version : Deleting History

hey people. im having some truly annoying problems with the maya history, that would involve deleting certain of its "steps", but i have no idea on how to go about this:

i built a character head and made blenshapes for it. I then modelled the body separately and attatched it to the head. Then i realized some issues with the interior of the mouth, and modelled a throat into it. Now, in my history i have the blenshapes at the very end, and a bunch of new, more recent items on top which are really slowing my work down.

Now, to get everything back to normal, i decide to delete the history; i still have the original blendshapes. Everything is fine now, but i try to re-assign the blenshapes to the head, but i cant, because i modelled the throat into it.

So basically i need to delete some parts of the history, but leave the blenshape nodes intact. Does anyone have any idea of how to go about this, or wheather or not it can be done in the first place?

I haven't tried any of them, but in highend3d.com there are some MEL scripts you can get that allow you to manipulate history. Go to the Maya/MEL Scripts section and type in history in the search box at the bottom. But again, I'm not sure if they will give the desired result as I've never tried them myself.

thanks people, but danrey, the link on your thread only leads to the main script download page of highend 3d. Ive already searched by "history" and downloaded 3 scripts, but none of them seem to actually delete certain parts of the history. Do you now the name of the script ? thx
