View Full Version : Zbrush>displacement map problem
Maxts 11-24-2006, 08:19 AM Im new in Zbrush, for example i take simple obj file, import it to zbrush and make little changes (1), everything looks like ok, after this i press calculate displacement map (2) but around circle you can see black area, after this i tried attach map to my object in maya, and on render you also can see problem area (3).
if anybody know what i missed, let me know

Just an idea, but you have adjusted settings so that grey equals no displacement, yeah? Since zbrush displacements also allow negative displacement, black represents a region that is pushed in with respect to the low detail mesh, while white is pushed out.
This is assuming you followed the directions in zbrush.info for displacement export to Maya, using MultiDisplacement 2 I guess. I haven't got Maya so not sure of all the procedures.

Well, before create disp. map important swith to the lowest SubD level, i miss it, now everything os ok.
