I'm a little confused about the different versions of Vue. Does Xstream 6 include the base program of Vue Infinite 6, or is it only a complimentary program to Vue Infinite to use with linking scenes to 3ds or Maya? Also, can Vue 5 Xstream be used to transport scenes from Vue 6 to 3ds? Sorry if this question is a little elementary.

Yes you get full Vue 6 Infinite plus the xStream plugin. You can use Vue 6 as standalone or with the xStream plugin. Not sure about your Vue 5 question sorry.

5 XStream for Vue 6 scenes? I say no - programs are VERY RARELY downwards compatible. And with the new features Vue 6 has i am almost sure this is the case here. No downwards compatibility.
