Howdy all -

I just got back from a trip to NY where I shot a lot of footage to mess around with 3d motion tracking. I've been doing about a shot a day since returning and have been having a lot of fun with them. Most are first pass, but usually think of these as performance art style and leave it at that and move onto other projects, but if anyone has any ideas of something cool to add to them, let me know...

Meats,

Nice job on the compositing! Especially considering how quickly you are putting these out. The Camera tracking is dead on. Wicth do you prefer, Icarus or Bouju 1.3? Do you ever place items in certain areas to help create contrast for tracking? nice work, can't wait to see whats next,

BTW I just saw cherub_3_face, it is my Favorite of the bunch, you should definetly keep that one, only recomendation, is to keep the face from going thru the statue at the last shot when it closes back up.

I'm not familiar with Boujou, but I've been looking into camera tracking myself for a little bit. It's cool stuff. I can only suggest that you keep it up, and maybe work on making the lighting a tad. These are great examples. I feel like I know a little bit more about what to do with tracking now that I've seen your work. Thanks. =)

Brianellenbracht - Hey, thanks man, I've seen some of your tracking stuff and I can see that you love it as much as I do:buttrock:
Icarus or Boujou>>> Well, right now I prefer Boujou, but it's just because I have a lot more experience with it compared to Icarus. Icarus is a cool program, especially for free, and I'm learning it more and more everyday. It's just too easy to go with what you know instead of learning something new.
Do you ever place items in certain areas to help create contrast for tracking? >>> I usually do that when I'm in a controlled area, but when I'm filming in public places, it's a lot harder to do that. I've found that you don't really need them with most shots just as long as there is a fair amount of contrasty things in your view.

WhiteRabbit.obj - right on! Thanks for your comments on the wire devil - for someone that is interested in what he is talking about, here is the

Bmud - thanks, I will keep it up for sure, I am having a lot of fun with it - it's cool to be able to throw 3d elements into video footage, there is just so many possibilities.
