This is a matt painting I've started on, built up on photos taken by a friend of mine.
The goal is to map it in 3D and make a slow camera move.

I feel that something is missing though. Doesn't it look a bit "poor"?
I would also like some critique on the color correction, how each layer matches the others etc.

I'm thinking about adding some more clouds around the far mountains.
One more thing, the foreground (grass and stones closest to the camera) feels like a flat and boring cut out witch I am not happy with.
Critique (and help to improve) please /Tomas

would be great. feel free to use it, probably the best way to explain changes when talking about a picture :)
made some changes to it:http://www.rapiernet.com/files/major2.jpg

But the foreground still looks like a cut out.

hi Rapiernet!
thanks for allowing me to work with your painting.

the changes you have made by adding clouds is excellent....

now the scene is looking much live....
but upto me the foreground only needs little bit changes as i have done here. even this also not perfectly fixed. just i made it for getting an idea to a better composition only. bcos the right side of your painting needs something to make the composition as perfect...thats why i have added some cliffs there.

in adition you can make it much intersting by working with foreground cliff's edges.... and if you change the FG colour to little bit bluish like the snowy mountains, that will merge the layers. bcoz where as all the mountains are filled with snow, making the foreground as greenish looks odd.

thats my opinon....

cheers man!
