View Full Version : What IS this?? Screwy material

Hi guys. What causes this? I build one side of the body, I duplicate the polygons with -1 scale, combine the pieces and the duplcated side's material has this 'shadow' problem. Have tried new UVs, new materials etc. Any ideas?

Did the negative scaling cause all of that side's normals to become inverted?

Ah thanks, should have checked the normals. Set to Face solved the problem, thanks! :) Here's another one - I built the head using a Fast SSS material, the body had a phong. I combined the head and body and now I can't set a new material to the object as a whole. I get 'Error: Error while parsing arguments.' Ideas?

Edit - Hmm deleting the shader group seems to fix the problem. Still not sure why?
