View Full Version : InTercepto's Sketches
InTerceptoV 11-22-2006, 04:27 PM Hi guys..
Two months ago I started to learn how to paint on computer (wacom/photoshop) and these are some of my sketches. Since I am an real begginer at painting and I dont have any background with it, I would like some comments/suggestions how can I improve my skils.
I know these works looks funny for some of you, but I am trying to get better... :)
My real love is 3D but I find exploration of ideas in 2D sketches much faster.
So here is the first one that I done on computer ... and I mean first when I say it! :)

And the usual nature scene... I know the animal sucks. I never tried to finish it to the end, but I know my greatest weaknes.

This is the last one that I did yesterday. I don't have to much time to practice since I am
busy at 3D field, so when I catch a few hours over week I try to paint some ideas like this one...

very nice. i'd say your first is your strongest. not only does it have a stong sense of placement but the hues work nicely together. the other paintings are a bit too saturated for my taste, but still nice compositions. i like the way you divide your frame. keep experimenting. keep it up!

drewantarctic ...
thaks for the comment. I wouldnt say that about the first one since it is the first one, but I am glad that you like it. Yes they are saturated a bit and I know that... maybe they will desaturate as I progress and learn something. :)

I really like the church on mars and the fantasy ones. They both have good depth and interesting composition and colors.
ps: ever try different canvas sizes? haha jk.
You are very good with composition.
post more!
Jackie.

Hehe ... yes, the next canvas orientation will be vertical. ;) Thanks for the comment.
I hope to have one sketch per week...
