I'm a 3ds max 4 user, but desided it was time to learn something new. Here is the first model I created with Lightwave 7. I'm realy impressed with Lightwave! Please help me make this better.

Hi ! Nice work!

I'm a max user, and I was thinking about trying Lightwave, I just love the quality of the renderer.
After a production in lw7, what do you think about it ?

Well, I'm very impressed with Lightwave 7. I created these images
over a 3 day (evenings after work) period, while learning the app. All together I think I spent les than a mont working in Lightwave 7. I'm amazed at how quick it is to learn, and believe me it's not just the renderer that is good...so go for it.

yes i agree LW render is total madness, but my only complain would be that there is no "gizmo" when you pull vertex in and out ... i love having a gizmo when i play with a geometry, i feel safer ...

I'm not sure I know what you mean, but you can switch the control cage on or off when modeling.

Are you referring to the FFD modifiers?

hi nice pix up there realy i like the first one where they swim arround

but the second one looks a little bit strange ... i know the real look of wet fur is hard to get ... but this fur looks a little to ..erm fluffy , its standing straight up

but the first image is very good if you ad a litle more detail to the water and background (it looks very clean perhaps you should ad some plankton or small particle floating around, perhaps only in PS) and it almost looks photorealistic .... i like the smooth reflection on the right side of the front animal it looks loke there still a little bit air under the tight fur ;) very nice .... did that happen on purpose ?(no offense;) or is just the shader so good ?

If you're missing the move/scale/rotate gizmo, then try the 'rove' tools.. Not quite perfect, but it does the job.

Argh...you were talking about the transform gizmos, robin??

well, in Lightwave you just hold down Ctrl while moving points or polys. It will constrain movement in whatever direction you moved the point or poly first.
