drewantarctic 11-21-2006, 07:34 PM Hey there. Just wanted a home for some of the "sketches" I do for the CGTalk Daily Sketch forum and other various projects. I'll start by putting them in order of completion. Hope you enjoy.
This was my first sketch. I had put down my Wacom for about a year prior to this but was excited at the prospect of tuning my skills. The subject was "The Goblin King".

"Pimps and Dragons"...I had to add my own level of humor to the circumstance. Very happy it kept a lot of energy and movement in the lines.

"Star Trek". Won Sketch of the Day. Doctor Spock diverting from his normal hand signal to that of a well known secret society. I very much enjoy the reflection of the Freemason symbolism into modern pop culture without much acknoledgement.

"Mad Hatter". The "hg" in his has is the atomic number for mercury, what most hatters in the 19th century used to bend hats into form.

"Evil Penguin". Although I didn't intend the penguin to be evil, he could probably be viewed as such by most people. He is actually a shaman wearing a sea lion skull.

"Oz Last Days". I wanted to reflect portions of the Wizard of Oz's true meaning, being a commentary on International Banking and the American Federal Reserve. By the time I got this far I was too tired to put in any symbolism. I may in fact revisit the idea and include all the necesary props.

Drew, they are all great. My favorite, though, is the pumpkin patch. The design work on the pumpkins is mesmerizing. :) Very cool work!!!

On November 2, 2006, Malachi Ritscher set himself on fire. Set beside him was a sign stating "Thou Shall Not Kill". There have been scores of people over the centuries who in protest of certain injustices give the highest sacrifice. This is my idea of beauty, nothing tangible, but elegant and powerful in its nature.
