Hi All:
I'm a newbie so please be kind;)
I am experimenting with Image Based Lighting and have imported a HDRI file via the Mental Ray options. I am using a poly plane with Use Background shader (refect 0) as a floor and a chrome sphere as my object. When I render the scene (with FG) the lower reflections of the sphere are black and the polyplane is still slightly visible in the image.
I've read a few topics on this and can't seem to get to the bottom of how to get my object to reflect in the HDRI rather than a black background? Some suggest using a mib_shadow_transparency shader but I've no idea how to do this.
All I want is my object (sphere) to look like it is sitting on the floor in this HDRI environment, with shadows and refections in the object!
Any ideas??
