Hi !

I have been working on this character for an animated short film me and some friends are going to make. He is named Daniel and he is supossed to be a teenager with some family problems at home. I have tried to put a melancholic look on his eyes. Facial animation will be a very important part on the short film.

The left one is the almost final stage of the head modelling (well, the ear is not attached and still there is no inner mouth) unless you suggest something that i can´t see :D
The right one is a hair test, forget the model and skin there. I´m doing the hair with Shag hair , but damn, the long render times only allow me to test at the minimal quality and without hair enabled lights... that sucks. In the image there is only one light affecting the hair, and it took an entire night to render (PIII 650, 512 Ram), hopefully, if we can finish it, we could render it all on a render farm :D

I´ll post updates while we advance, still we are on a very early stage but we have very interest in finishing it.

Thanks for your comments and excuse me for my bad english :D

Alrighty, not bad, but there is room for improvement. I'm going to assume that you were going for a photo-realistic look so:

1. It looks like you overdid it on the eyes. They're really nice, but they don't have that photo-realistic look to it that make one looking at it say "wow", they seem more cartoony. Perhaps tweaking the color will help change this.

2. The nose looks off in it's shape. I'd say that you might want to make it bigger, especially the nostrils for the model on the right.

3. The ears are not at all shaped properly, this has nothing to do with the fact that they're not attached to the head. Because of the view, it's really difficult to tell you just how to correct them, but I can see that the lower part of the ear is too flat.

4. Last and not least is the hair. It's not quite there yet, but I'm assuming that it'll look better in a full out render. But currently though, it's only so, so, especially the bangs at the forehead.

Hopefully this will help you out some

EDIT: Perhaps you can also show some flat and wire frame views of the model? Full front and side perspectives might be good too.

Hi!

Thanks for your reply Temporal :D

Well, the eyes is something that i have´t go in deep yet, but you have remembered me that i have to do it :D Thanks :D

About the nose, the left one is bigger than the right one. I mean, the right one model is older than the left one. A friend pointed me about that before. I´ll take a look at that again.

About the ears... well, i always have troubles with the ears :P I´m posting an image detailing how it is done.

The hair is frustrating me because loonnnng render times. I´m waiting for my new computer this week or so, so i hope to work in that better :D

Oh, forget about the eyes on the screenshots. They are optimized for a fast workflow :P
