In the picture, there is a team on searching task. The heroine is warning the others to stop by a gesture when she discovered something. In order to attract the audience' attention to this gesture, I specially added a shining effect to the hand.
The heroine is holding a electromagnetic wave gun. The disc at the gunstock is the electromagnetic wave accelerator, and the exterior white box is the battery box. The team member followed her is holding the same weapon and the third one is holding a high caliber electromagnetic wave gun.

Brilliant stuff - I love it :) though after reading your description, I think it's a little hard to see the gesture.

Beautiful work! I love the details on teh stones, the contrast between the cool and warm lgihting, and of course her face. I don't really see the gesture you're talking about at all, but I also don't really feel like I'm missing it. It is really lovely!

Yup, the heroine's head design is very Deunan-ish. I also agree that the gesture is hard to see being covered by the rifle. That "H" shape on her right arm is a bit distracting too for some reason.

wow, absolutely amazing, awesome fusion of styles. I really like the high contrast & bright colors too...& I see the gesture some people are apparently missing ;).

Fantastic image, nice use of light to draw attentin to her gesture, not too obvious but it definately makes you see it.
Only thing i wonder is that the last guys gun looks exactly like the alien sniper weapon from halo. But i love the piece.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm very glad you like it.
I personally love Masamune Shirow's works very much, but in fact the helmet is inspired by SC, ^_^ I agree that, to make a little bit change, this piece could be one of the Doujinshis of APPLE SEED.
As for the third person' s gun, said it looks like weapon from halo 2, what a sharp insight! The fact is, when I worked on it, I was playing halo 2 all the time…
For the capital “H” on the arm of the heroine, actually, I didn't mean to paint like that. Or, maybe it is more like a lied down “I”?
For the gesture, it is really a tough trick. To emphasize the hand, I'm afraid it would distract attentions from face; not to emphasize it, the hand become unnoticeable….sigh….

I like the charactor design of your piece, and also the color tune.
But it is my view that the contrast of lighting of her face can more emphasis a bit.
Because i feel that the contrast of stone more than the focal point(girl)
All in all, Good job !
