I need a first step... I've got some lego models that were created by building all the pieces individually and assembling them into the model. Now I want to make them explode. I know reactor can do rigid body simulations, but the pieces intersect here and there, and they don't just fall and bounce once or twice. A handful fall right through the plane, and some other decide to shoot off into who-knows-where. The legos are all built to scale where 1 unit = 1 inch. I'm just wondering what settings I should be looking at to keep the simultion realistic. Any thoughts would be wonderful.

BTW, some of the models are at http://www.meekrob.irken.net/legos.htm

Try using parry particle system, you can select objects that you want be exploded, and you have a lot of control over the settings. Or if you have any 3rd party plugins such as Thinking Particles from Cebas or Afterburn from Sitni Sati, there awesome.

If you're going to use particles you're going to really see intersections.

It sounds odd that Reactor would intersect rigid-body simulation. Because.. it doesn't do that.. :)
It sounds like something you can tweak your way out of, ie. you've set it up 'wrong' somehow, or you need to increase subframe-calculations, or.. well I don't know, I don't have much experience using Reactor. You should be able to throw as many objects around as you please though.
