I'm trying to reconstruct a guitar I built from poly's a while back, out of Nurbs as a bit of an excersize and I thought because it has nice flowing curves it would be the perfect candidate.

I can build the sides ok, but how can I 'fill' in the front and back faces. I thought the best way would be to do a trimmed surface, but then how do I combine the trimmed face and the sides when the ISO's dont line up properly?

Or am I doing this all wrong :D

Here's what I'm trying to re-construct...

If you are doing nurbs, then ideally you will want to use the side profile to intersect a top and bottom patch. This is what you trim. You don't necessarily want to try and line up iso lines. After the patch trim, use a fillet.

However, I've not done XSI nurbs modeling, I do mine in Pro/ENGINEER or other nurb tools (Rhino/Amapi etc.)

So where I appear to be going wrong is trying to create closed shapes, as you might do with a polygon version. I'll try what you suggested and see if it works in XSI too.
