View Full Version : sorta OT: output to Quicktime
Alloy 02-10-2003, 05:43 PM I need to make some movies available on the web using QT. However, exporting them from Premiere results in huge (30 meg for 2 minutes) file sizes.
I have made a lot of sacrifices in quality, frame rate, and resolution to get the movie down to a workable size.
Does anyone have any experience using Quicktimes? Is there a better way to export? I am using the free version of 6, would purchasing 6 pro help?
Thanks!

I prefer to export directly from Quicktime Pro and find that the 2x CDROM Soreson preset produces nice quality with a reasonable file size.

I use the Microsoft MPEG-4 codec. I think it comes with QT6, non? Either that or just DivX it and tell apple to "switch" it up their arse...

I generally like using QuickTime Pro (a steal at $30), but one thing it messes up on is flattening the movie properly for progressive download.
If you're willing to spend a little, check out Cleaner. Hands down, the best video compression software.

You might be able to find Cleaner EZ for cheap.
