What are the most common brushes experianced texture artists use in Photoshop for textureing skin? Do you guys make custom brushes for the pores, ect. If so, what do you do?

I use some of the defaults, and I make my own. With PS7, the brush dynamics are really great. It is easy to make your own brushes. Just paint a pattern of what you want. Skin pores. Hair. Wrinkle line. etc. Use the dynamics to adjust how the brush rotates or changes size or opacity etc. Save as a new brush. Works well.

Man, I wish I had PS7. I can't wait to play with the new paint engine.

Personally, I use Natural1 and Natural2 quite a bit. I also make a bunch of my own brushes, usually on-the-fly as needed. Sometimes I'll go on a rampage and make a bunch of brushes. See: Brush Making (http://w3.chrlmi.cablespeed.com/~halmich/tech-slop/brushmaking/index.shtml) for the techniques that I frequently use.

I use the default ones, and sometimes make my own.

Photoshop's help file has tons of useful info about creating brushes. Did you look there?

I'd love to say that I'd love to tell you all about it, but the fact is it would pale in comparison to the help file.

Or the manual, for that matter.
