Title: Desk Invasion
Name: Daniel Mahlow
Country: Germany
Software: Blender

I did this piece to get in touch with the spectral renderer Indigo. Modeled with Blender 2.42a and rendered with Indigo 0.6.
I had fun making it and hope it'll provide at least a smile while looking at it.
Don't be shy to fire away with critique (general or specific).

cheers,

Nice, the lighting is pretty believable.
How are the render-times like in Indigo, is it progressing in that area at all?

It has certainly gotten better with Version 0.6. This one rendered for about 5 hours.

wow, i dont know why but i love this image. It reminds me of early morning sunshine in my childhood days or when the sun would be overcast for a short period on a hot sunny day and make all the kids want to come out and play (rhymes? lol). The scale proportions are working for me too, i gotta rate this *****

great work, I wonder how long did it took to render this? and is the render with GI or no? explain a bit since Blender seams interesting to me, but I have no time to play around with it, I wonder wheather it can be usefull in arch 3d vizualisations?

Cheers

Thanks for the replies so far. :) The render took around 5 hours, my CPU ain't the fastest there is though, so I guess that's reasonable for a spectral renderer.

@ miodrag
As far as I understand, Blender still lacks certain CAD features which some might want for arch stuff, but I'm really not the right person to ask, I started with Blender and to a certain extent grew into it. :)

Nice lighting and idea, but characters are primitive.. make body material more clay like.

I've seen those little guys creeping around my computer once before.
Or, was it just a dream ?

Nice lighting work !

Cheers.
