Hi Folks-
Just wrapped up an early character test with v10. The character is Dave Miller (inside joke). Mega props to Mike and JRoc for getting the rig working. They did a tremendous job with rigging this guy. This really is my first run at character animation. I've got much to learn, but it's a blast. It's not on our site just yet, but I've got a YouTube link here. Let me know what you think!

Sorry if the YouTube compression blows, I'll have a better example on the Fuse site soon.

Thanks

Alec

For a first run at CA, this is extremely well done! The attention to detail (body movements, camera instability, lighting) is top notch. When do you start teaching? :D

The avatar is misleading, Alec Syme is definitely no new comer to 3d or animation.

Great job!

Awesome work Alec, reminds me I need to talk to Mike again. Have to say the eyes are what really sell this piece, you've put a lot of character into him and his eyes, always have a purpose that really show he's thinking. theres a few sharp jerks in the particularly on the arms when he shrugs, but overall a great example.

Thanks for the advice Kai. Yea. Agree about the shrug. Overall needs more work, but I'm on to new things with Dave. I sort of jumped the gun with this. The YouTube compression sort of wrecks it. I'll post it tomorrow in the Fuse site and send you a link with a much much higher quality example to look at. And do talk to Mike again soon.

Thanks again.
Alec
