Now this is something I've been wanting to make myself for a while as well as the rest of the A*B*C Warriors. Its coming along okay so far. I'm not sure his mouth should be turned up at the corner though. Hammerstein is a fairly grim character at the best of times.
Best of luck with this.

Yep I'm going to second the comment on the Mouth if it is to remain faithful. There isn't too much geometry in there at the moment but what is there looks good, I would be able to recognise him straight off. Looking forward to updates.

Hey guys!
Thanks for your comments! Yes I agree about the mouth. I didn't really like the up turn either. But is is in the pictures that I am using to model from so I put it in. I will remove it in my next post. I am currently modeling his legs. Will update later tonight!:buttrock:

Hey Cabbe
What are you using as reference at the mo - are you watching the Judge Dredd film and taking screenshots from there or have you broken out your collection of 2000AD and taking refs from there? Hammerstein has changed over the years in his look and feel depending on who has drawn him, so I think you could just get away with doing what you think he should look like rather than corresponding to any particular design. I think the Judge Dredd film version was probably more based on the later Simon Bisley rendition rather than the earlier ones. It will be great to see how this turns out though.

Hi there, i'm not too familiar with this character but i think it's coming along great! it kinda hard to "judge" (hehe) the model out of this render... could you give us some other shots of him like a perspective and maybe just screencaps where we can see the wireframe? thanks.. just curious of how the flow of the geometry is going. Keep up the good work Cabbe!

Update!
Hey everyone! I was going to upload some new pics for you now. But my machine just crashed, and it refuses to come back up again. I'll try to find the problem tomorrow.
Up until that point though the model went fine. I have his hips and legs also now. I have also started to do some preliminary textures. He is desert brown.
As for pictures, I just have a few pics I downloaded from the net. They are few and not very good. So much of him will just be modeled kinda what I think he would look like.
I'll add some new pics tomorrow!
Thanks for your help guys!

Hey do you have the ABC Robot model? They used to sell it when Judge Dredd movie was out. You can probably use it as reference. It's just a simple action figure, I got one myself.

Coming along well so far - do you need some scans of Hammerstein at all for reference? I think I can dig into my comic collection and come up with one or two :)

Hey my fellow 3d freaks!
Six feet under.
Nope I don't have the model (YET!). I saw it for sale on ebay, but it was in thailand. So by the time it arrives I will already be done.
Fallen swordsman.
Thanks for the offer, but I think I am fine. I have most of the big parts done. And the small stuff won't be seen as much anyway. I can probably get away with a texture for much of it
Anyway, I have todays update for you!
Did some more textures and started to model some details.
Thanks for your help and comments guys!

He's coming along very well! Nice big stropping lad that he is. Hopefully you won't get stuck on any fiddly bits.

Heeey!
I promised myself I wouldn't work on the computer today. I was wrong. I have started to add a body of pipes and stuff under his armour. Now we are starting to get somewhere. I still need to add a lot of stuff to his arms and also do some more texture work.:airguitar
Sorry for the crappy picture!

He's coming along nicely - has a nice weighty feel to him. At least you've now got him all in one piece - the hands are probably going to need a little work (or should that be hand) but overall - looking good :)

looks good. Maybe its just me or the camera angle, but the arms look a little too long. Otherwise, it looks good.
