Hi! i have a big problem with the motion capture system in max4.2. every time i link the joystick, mouse, etc. to the position of an object it only moves with the absolute coordinates - that means even if i link a controller to the rotation and rotate the object - the moving directon of the object didnt change. i try to make a walktrough (joystick = movement / mouse = rotation ->FPS-like) - now if i change the looking direction - the movement should also. how can i make this? thx. (sorry for my english)
:annoyed:

I don't think you can... it seems like you're asking the utility to work in local space, which it might not be able to do. I'm not sure about this, just speculating from past experience with other motion capture systems. Motion capture in general tends to be world-space, due to the nature of capturing real-world data.

Have you read all the documentation? Is there a tutorial?

You might also ask on the Discreet webboard, there are many knowledgable and helpful people there.

There are a couple scripts out there that let you control a Max camera in an FPS-like way. Not sure if this will work for you, but here's one I found...
