Looking at the Lightning (as in bolts from a thunder cloud) Shader [developed back in Version 1.5 not the recent 5.11), I noticed it to be none 3D?!?... projected? to an object? and really very unusable for my needs.
I have looked at various other packages (Maya is more point to point = none forking randomized new path each frame, which is more electricity then lightning) and also have considered hand painting in combustion mainly permissible due to the limited number of frames needed in most cases. Still a real 3D forking object that glows in the environment etc makes more sense.
So what do XSI people do for Lightning and/or electricity effects?
(I searched here and else where and found really nothing explaining our options and what the community prefers to end up doing in XSI)
