I have made some progress from one of my previous posts. What do you think?

Superb job Cel, this model looks perfect, no errors whatsoever. Though I may be wrong since this is an alien.

Thanks, here are some more pics. The veins will be a little different on the opposite side of the body. I also think that I want a little more definition around the waist and ribs. What do you think? Cel :buttrock: :buttrock:

Interesting model, i like it.
You should add some details on the hand, it looks too flat.

This is actually the part that I am most disatisfied with. I think that it is the shape of the inner part thats bothering me. What do you think? Cel :buttrock: :buttrock:

.. so what is wrong with the ear? i donīt have any crits except you could use some more polys on the upper 'earline' . But hey, thatīs why it is WIP.
And if youīre that unhappy with them, why not do some reptile-like ears, the just have two holes in their heads. Maybe this would be much better cause this guy has something of a snake or a dragon (does that make sense?!?)
I wish I could do such ears

There is nothing wrong with it, I just wanted to reshape it a little. I guess your right, that is why it is a WIP. Thanks for your comments.

The knee looks strange, you should decrease the bump of the bones on the skin (hope you understand :hmm: )

Could we see some wireframes ?

i have to second flamedvil about the knees. they look like someone hit you character onto the knees. reducing the bump should do it.:D :beer:

Very cool body! I really like the veins you have running throughout. I can picture this character in black leather (like pinhead osrta) tight enough to see those veins, and maybe a black Dr. mask!?!?!

Awsome work, man, congratulations!

But for my taste the veins are too symetric, maybe you could give a more organic look to the veins by doing them asymetric.

Definitly right about the veins. I am still working with one half of the model, but when the overall model is done I will alter the veins so they don't look so symetric.

I have not thought much about textures yet. I am modeling in my spare time so I do not make huge amounts of progress. I was leaning more towards a reptile like texture. Maybe some spots, scales, patches of light/dark areas, I'm really not sure and I have not done anything except think about it. What do you think?

Maybe you could add some cloth to the model...

When you model a character think about some things
What kind of character do you want to make ? Gentle? Bad ?
In what period he live ?

I think it could be a scifi character or a lotr-like monster... i don't really know :)

Think about it, take your time and if you have an idea, feel free to share.

Hey, I forgot. I posted this character at the beginning stages awhile ago. The original character sketches were of a robot. After the alien design evolved I decided to create armor based on the robot design. Here is what I've got so far for the helmet.

Hey Chip,

The character is looking good. watch the abs though. They look a little squarish and I would add the veins later so they won't be as symetrical.

Thanks for the comments Tony. I mentioned the veins to another guy who pointed out the symmetric look. Since I am still working with one half of the mesh, I have not altered the veins yet, but I will. Thanks for the comments! Chip :buttrock: :buttrock:
