View Full Version : Faster Way to clean up unused Vertices?
Attacking Mist 02-10-2003, 12:24 AM I am doing Dave K's Poly Head Tutorial (I think its for Maya but i have found a way to convert it) I am on the Cleaning up part http://www.thehobbitguy.com/tutorials/polymodeling/page03.htm
Is there an equivilent of what he does in Maya for Max? I have tried the Vertex Weld Modifier, but it doesn't get the results I want, and it is too slow to weld them individually.
Thanks in advance.

Well, I did what i said i wasn't going to do and welded all the verts by hand. Well i got to this one part that i cant quite figure out how to weld together... pic is included

i didn't go thru the tutorial but if you're tryin to get rid of that gap you should be able to just remove the edge. or snap one along the right edge and then weld em. but like i said i didn't do the tut.
and again IF you're trying to close that gap in so it fits right.. make sure that it says vertex instead of vertices in teh command panel under vertex subobj mode. i remember seeing this exact situation but i forget where :\

Well I figured out the problem soon after I posted, What i did to fix it was to cut from the vertex on the left to the middle of the line on the right and then weld them... Well thanks, more than half-way through the tutorial

Cheers :)
