I think DXF format doesn't accept textures. You should go (if you can) for another format like 3DS, FBX, etc... (don't know which formats exports Strata)

Programs like Deep Exploration or Polytrans could help in some cases.

But even if you manage to open the model in LW with the textures on it you still have to adjust all the parameters.

I could be wrong but i think is a better idea to texturize in the final program.

I used to model in LW and then port the model to MAX, all the texturing were made in MAX because LW parameters hadn't a direct correspondence with MAX's ones. Procedurals are not compatible, etc.

But a total conversion could work with basic texturing, so try it.

Greetings to all.

I have a question, an odd one I know, but it needs to be asked.

I modeled a project in Strata3D, even putting on textures.

When I brought it into Lightwave as a .dxf file, the textures was gone.

What am I doing wrong here? When it loads it up in Lightwave, I cannot add the textures any more, it is accepted as a full model.

I would greatly appreciate any help on this, thnx

In Strata3D can you save it out as anything else than a .dxf ??
Like save as .Obj, or .lwo ???
I have no idea I never used Strata3D...
.dxf is AutoCad format, Layered format..I use AutoCad allot..
